Research

My expertise is in cognitive psychology and neuroscience. Using behavioral, self-report, pupil size, and neuroimaging methods I have studied how individuals differ on their ability to control attention. These are the broad areas my research focuses on.

Attention Control and Cognition
How people differ on their ability to control attention and how that predicts performance in other sensory, cognitive, and real-world domains.

The Measurement of Attention Control
Development of cognitive tasks that are both reliable and valid measures of attention control.

Brain Mechanisms of Attention Control
How pupil size, the locus coeruleus-norepinephrine system, and organization of large-scale brain networks are related to differences in attention control.
